An international choir based in Beijing China The Deutsche Kantorei Peking (DKP) has been singing and performing Western classical choral music in Beijing since its foundation in 2010. The members of Deutsche Kantorei Peking are professional music teachers, students and music lovers from China, Germany, the UK, the United States, Canada, France, Belarus, Belgium, and other countries. Our choir is one of the few truly established multinational and multicultural art groups in Beijing. It provides a bridge of cultural exchange, excellent opportunities for Chinese and international people to do choral (especially German) music in Beijing. In addition to regular large choir performances, small groups of singers also get together to work on dedicated chamber projects. O n 22 June 2025 DKP performed a programme of choral music called "Sing, Sing a song!" on the theme of singing at the German embassy school in Beijing . The first half – “Singing the same song – in old and new style” – paired compositions that set the same or similar texts to music, highlighting the stylistic contrasts between eras.
